Breast Lift / Mastopexy FAQ
Serving Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania
Is a breast lift right for me?
If you suffer from ptosis, or sagging of the breasts, due to aging, weight loss, breastfeeding, or other factors, and do not plan to lose significant amounts of weight or breastfeed in the future, a breast-lift may be the right solution for you.
To learn more about the breast-lift procedure and whether it is right for you, call or email our offices today to schedule your personal consultation.
Can I combine a breast lift with an augmentation?
Yes. Many women find that, in addition to the sagging, they have lost some breast tissue as well. Others may take the opportunity to enlarge their breasts to help them achieve their ideal form, and to combine the procedures.
How long will my breast lift last?
Unless you lose a significant amount of weight or breastfeed following your procedure, the results of a breast lift are generally long-lasting. The procedure does not halt the aging process, but it can reverse the existing effects of ptosis.
Yes. For most breast-lift procedures, you can expect a roughly anchor-shaped scar, along the lower crease of the breast, and in a line extending up to each nipple. The extent and overall appearance of the final scars will depend on individual factors including skin type, lifestyle, and overall healing abilities.
