Forehead Lift
One of the first places on your face that shows signs of aging is the forehead or brow area. These signs are apparent in the lines across the forehead, as well as in sagging brows. The result is an angry, sad, stressed, or tired appearance.
A brow lift, also known as a forehead lift, is a cosmetic procedure in which Dr. Barber lifts your brow or forehead. The result is a more youthful appearance achieved by raising drooping brows and reducing or eliminating the horizontal lines on your forehead. The vertical lines between the brows may also be smoothed or eliminated. The upper eyelids may be raised as well, although this is often accomplished with eyelid surgery known as blepharoplasty.
Candidates
Brow lifts are for people who have deep frown lines between the eyes or drooping brows. Most candidates for brow lift surgery are between the ages of 40 and 65, although in extreme cases the surgery may be performed on someone younger.
If you have saggy eyelids, swollen eyes, or crow's feet, brow lifts are not the recommended treatment. For these problems, Dr. Barber may recommend blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) or skin treatments that target wrinkles.
Dr. Barber will work with you to determine the best option for your brow lift procedure, based on your particular brow problem and desires.
