Rhinoplasty / Nose Surgery

Serving Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Pittsburgh Rhinoplasty and nose surgery before and after galleryRhinoplasty, or nose surgery, is a popular option for patients who feel that their nose is disproportionate to their face or who are unhappy with the shape of their nose. It is also an effective treatment for breathing problems caused by malformations of the septum.

Depending on the problems the rhinoplasty is intended to treat, a rhinoplasty might consist of procedures to change the shape and/or the size of the bridge and tip of the nose, reshape the nostrils, and change the angle of the nose.

Depending on the type and extent of the work being done, the nose surgery can be performed as either an open or a closed procedure. In an open procedure, a small incision is cut at the base of the nose, between the nostrils. In a closed procedure, small incisions are made inside the nostrils.

There should be no visible scarring following a closed procedure, and only minimal scarring following the open procedure.
